Sonnet #5
Warm within a chill Midwinter’s night,
Wherein the sky spills crystalline
	and
Spectral its cascades of splinter’d light,
Pil’d up in palaces that shine
	and
Shimmer, diamond avenues to bright
Halls wreath’d with radiance divine
	and
Glass cathedrals some wayfaring sprite
Or elf might trespass, seeking shrine
	and
Shelter, stay awhile, inside our doorway.
Gaze upon the dawn, converse, recline
	or
Sleep: at home, embrac’d wherever your way
Takes you. Ever may our paths entwine
	or
Intersect, and with you evermore may
Daybreak find unmelted friendship thine.

For Beckie, Christmas 2010.
